MESSAGE FROM BSMS ADMINISTRATORS

By Lauren Allen

Middle school is a new and sometimes challenging time when some children will experience changes academically, socially, emotionally, and physically. The staff of Butner-Stem Middle School and I are dedicated to helping your child to make this transition between elementary school and high school as smooth as possible and continue their academic growth during their three years at BSMS. If you have any questions or concerns that arise throughout the school year, please feel free to contact your child’s teacher or the school office.

We thank you for your support of the SOARing Falcons here at BSMS. There are many ways to keep up with what’s happening at BSMS. You can read our weekly Falcon Update like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. You can also sign up to receive text message alerts (see instructions to the right).

Each teacher maintains a webpage to offer an introduction of the course and how he or she can be contacted. In addition, each teacher has a REMIND Account. Once you sign up for REMIND, you can receive text message or email alerts about assignments and deadlines for your child's classes. I encourage you to stay in close contact with your child's teachers to monitor their progress during the school year.

If you haven't already done so, please be sure to come by the front office to get your username and password for Parent Portal so you can keep up with your child's grades, view their schedule, and update your contact information at any time.

We hope you will show your support for BSMS by volunteering with the Twin Talon Club (our PTO and Booster Club) and coming to parent conferences, athletic events, concerts, and other events during the school year. Our students love to share everything they have learned with you and the rest of the BSMS Community.

Thank you again for your support.

SchoolBlocks offers a unique and powerful personalized search system. A member of the public, searching for "homework" might see an announcement from the school as the first result. However, if the user is logged in, they would see their teacher’s latest homework assignment as the top result.
