Air Quality Updates at BSMS

air quality updates:

Granville County Public Schools is committed to the safety and well-being of its students and staff.  All school facilities are being tested for air quality by an independent, certified laboratory.  The results of these tests are posted to the website below and any additional action steps will be communicated to all members of the school community.

On October 11, 2017, 21 random air samples were taken throughout the Butner-Stem Middle  School campus.  The results showed a normal indoor air fungal ecology in all areas of the school except for one locations in a hallway area.  The official reports are posted below which recommended follow-up testing in the affected areas.

On October 18, the independent laboratory conducted follow-up sample testing at the school.  The results are posted below along with the recommendations.  GCPS is following up to comply with all of these action steps and will continue to monitor the situation carefully.
